Student placement policy Blacktown Women's and Girls' Health Centre recognises that field placement is a critical element in student's professional development. Students from tertiary education facilities will be encouraged and supported to work as part of a team to provide a high quality service to the community. Prior to the commencement of a placement students are required to meet formally with the Centre Manager to discuss both student and agency expectations. Volunteers policy The organisation recognises that all people have the right to be paid for their labour and believes that it is the responsibility of Governments to ensure community based services are adequately staffed. Therefore Volunteers seeking experience to increase thier employment opportunities are encouraged for short-term basis only.
Position Vacant - COUNSELLOR 14 Hours/week Blacktown Women's and Girls' Health Centre Inc. promotes the health and well being of women and provides an affordable, confidential health care service which is managed and operated by women for women in a non-threatening, non-judgemental environment with an emphasis on preventative health care.
As a community based women's health centre, we offer a wholistic approach to understanding, managing and supporting women and girls to make decisions about their own health and well being.
Essential Criteria: 1. Relevant Tertiary Qualifications 2. At least two years Counselling experience 3. Effective verbal and written communication skills in English 4. Commitment to a feminist and wholistic approach to women's health 5. Availability to work Tuesdays 6. Capacity to work independently whilst maintaining a team approach
Desirable criteria: 1. Qualification and experience in providing couples counselling for Same Sex relationships 2. A current drivers license and comprehensively insured vehicle Blacktown Womens's and Girls' Health Centre Inc. considers that being a women is a genuine occupational qualification and all workers must undergo a criminal record check.
